Each subsequent page of music contains five staves with four lines each. The last page contains only two staves. There are no bar lines, time signatures, or bar numbers. Instead of bar lines, Kauder uses small mensural lines ( | ) above and between the staves. Study numbers are marked. The score is transposed. All whole-measure rests are notated according to their quarter-note value. The last page of music contains the date of composition at the end: Oct. 5, 1948.
